Shine Trader Live reports:
When Will Zalatoris finally got a PGA Tour card, one of the perks was that he could set his own schedule without the uncertainty of applying for a wild card.
Unlike other players who have a card for the first time, he already has the Masters on his schedule.
Will Zalatos must be an alternative pGA Tour starter.
Despite being a special temporary member, he won the PGA Tour rookie of the Year award this year. His key performances included a tie for sixth at the US Open and a runner-up at Augusta, which put him back in contention for the first major of the year next April. He also has a chance to score his first fedex Cup points at this week’s Flytower Championship.
“Knowing THAT I can go out there and play, that peace of mind is very important,” Ville-Zarators said. “Last year I got two wild cards in January, and the next thing you know, I played seven weeks in a row, and by the end of February and the beginning of March I was exhausted.
“So I think it’s very helpful to be able to set my own agenda and work around it, rather than having everything in full bloom.”
His tentative plan was to play the pGA Tour’s opening three rounds in hopes of making it to the Zozo Championship in Japan.
